The line knows what time it is.

Ring the desk in office hours, take a message outside them, and never make a customer work out why nobody picked up.

Hours are set once for the business and per queue where a desk differs.

What it actually does

One set of hours, not twenty

Set the business's hours once. A desk that genuinely differs overrides them; the rest inherit and stay right.

Holidays are a list, not a scramble

A dated list of closures, so nobody has to remember to switch the phones over the night before.

Out of hours has a plan

Voicemail, a forward, or an honest recorded message. Silence is not one of the options.

It applies to the dialler too

Outbound calling hours are checked before a call is placed, which is a legal requirement in several of the places our own centres work.

Where this is enforced

In the dialplan as well as in the app. A browser cannot talk its way past a time window, because the check that matters happens where the call is actually placed.
